Declaration of 40 days of Prayer and Fasting for the US Elections

September 28 – November 6, 2012

As General Superintendent of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, I hereby declare a 40 day period of prayer and fasting from September 28, 2012 through November 6, 2012, Election Day. The purpose of this time of praying and fasting is to pursue God’s plan and purpose for the United States in our 2012 election process and to declare a Christ Awakening in our nation.

Understanding the deep need for revival in the United States, many ministries across our country have responded and declared times of prayer and fasting for this season. We will use the guidelines offered by the National Prayer Committee of which we are active members. This is a coalition of prayer leaders from many Christian ministries and denominations. A Prayer Guide is provided in English and Spanish.

You are strongly urged to join us in this time of laying aside our personal agendas and crying out to God for His intervention and will in our land. I ask you to seek God to know how you should participate. Fasting is a personal issue that is best offered to God in your individual way as you determine in your heart. Your prayers for our nation are vital at this crossroads in time for the United States of America. May He richly bless your sacrifice and offering.

A.D. Beacham
