Scripture for July: Ephesians 6:12

“Wrestling Match”

Director’s Message for July:

The challenges of our day are unprecedented; the fact that we face challenges is not. In 1776 America’s future was uncertain, to say the least. We had declared our independence from the world’s greatest superpower and now faced the British Empire’s wrath. Of the fifty-six signers of the Declaration of Independence, twelve fought in battle, five were captured and imprisoned, seventeen lost property to British raids, and five lost their fortunes. All risked their lives for the sake of their country and the cause of freedom. Challenges reveal character. C. S. Lewis noted that “courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point.” The reason we can be courageous in every circumstance is that our Lord offers “the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe” (Ephesians 1:19). Wherever we are, He has been. Whatever we feel, He has faced.

July Prayer Focus:

*Pray that the Churches of Cornerstone will be courageous in battle against the rulers of this dark world.
*Pray for our soldiers who fight against flesh and blood for our freedoms today.
*Pray that our next President will honor the Biblical foundations that this great country is built on.
*Pray for all retired ministers who have faithfully lead their congregations and have laid the foundations that we are building on today.
*Pray for all missionaries who are obeying the Great Commission on foreign soils.
*Pray for our Conference leadership to be empowered by the Holy Spirit as they lead us in this great battle.

More Information About WIN:

What is WIN?
WIN stands for World Intercession Network. Our vision is to connect believers to the heart of God through prayer as we intercede for the nations.

When was WIN organized?
A World Intercession Network committee was established in November of 1982. This charter committee was organized to pray for IPHC missionaries and the ministries of the church. A WIN office was established in Oklahoma City at the Resource Development Center in 1990.

What does WIN do?
WIN promotes prayer through conferences and local churches and in cooperation with many national prayer ministries. We provide resources to generate a fresh enthusiasm for prayer. Working with Conference WIN Directors in each IPHC conference, we equip them to recruit and resource local church WIN Directors as they lead their churches to become houses of prayer.

Who can participate in WIN?
Any Christian interested in a lifestyle of committed prayer for God’s world is invited to participate. Watch the WIN website for upcoming prayer initiatives, prayer guides and other materials to encourage you as you lead your church in prayer or as an individual prayer warrior.
