“Daily Fellowship With God”
Psalm 145:18 “The Lord is close to all who call upon Him, yes, to all who call on Him sincerely.”
Have you ever been walking with someone and as you are having a conversation with them, they suddenly stop to look at something but you kept walking, unaware they are no longer walking beside you? It’s definitely a surprise when you look and see no one is there.
Psalm 145:18 tells us that the Lord longs to maintain an intimate or “close” relationship with us. That’s so comforting especially in times like we are experiencing now.
I believe the key word in this verse is “sincere.” That word is defined as, “free from pretense or deceit; proceeding from genuine feelings.” How sincere are you in calling upon the Lord? Do you really want to have a daily dependence upon Him? Or are you simply looking for instant help from the immediate problem of the day.
Christ wants us to partake in a rich and full relationship with the King of Kings. Remember, however, that He might interfere with the way you want to run your life.
The Lord desires daily fellowship with you and unlike someone who may stop walking beside you because of a distraction, Christ never stops walking beside you.
Notice, He does not walk in front of us, although He knows what lies ahead, nor does He walk behind us, although our past is forgiven. Christ walks beside us for the moments when we need to lean on Him. When we are under a tremendous burden He helps carry the load.
Will you walk daily with Him? There’s no better way than by praying.
May you never walk alone again.
