June Prayer Network Post From Dr. Dan Woods

Director’s Message for June: Some years ago, I noticed that Paul penned far more prayers in his letters for people who were well than for people who were sick. As I studied each of his prayers, I began to develop a practice that I called “Wellness Praying”—making requests for Christians who seemed to “have it all together” the centerpiece of my prayer life rather than focusing primarily on the needs of those who were sick, backslidden, out of work, in martial trouble, etc. In other words, I began to pray more PROACTIVELY than REACTIVELY. Would you like to try it? Simply choose a person in whose life you have some level of spiritual influence—someone whose life is going well right now—and pray the following for them based on Ephesians 3:14-21:

I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant ____________ ______________ , according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner person, that Christ may dwell in ____________’s heart through faith; that ______________, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that ____________ may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
