To know the joy a person can experience when the Holy Spirit reveals a Truth in God’s Word. A Truth no understood before and now the Light shines in your understanding.


To have a sharp two-edged sword that helps me to rightly divide the Truth is essential to live in this world and to be victorious and not deceived.

5.      SEE SIN

A thorough study of God’s Word will help you see and feel the sin hid in your life.

It will also reveal to you how to avoid sin and how to have sin and sins removed.


To know the Truth will give you boldness and a sense of security because you really know the author of Truth. You know He will guide you in all Truth helping you to avoid many pitfalls in life.

7.      SEARCH

As you search the scriptures daily you will become increasingly aware of what it means to be “IN CHRIST” and all the benefits that you have in Christ.


An in depth study and memorizing, not just a casual reading of God’s Word will help you learn the precious promises that are yours for the believing. This will allow you to meet the challenges and problems you face everyday.


Real wisdom is from above and as you learn and understand that wisdom you will want to fully surrender your life to the authority of God’s Word. Full surrender will strengthen your faith, discipline our walk and keep us focused on His will, not ours.


To know the power of God’s Word in our own walk with the Lord will compel us to share the Good News

11.   SECURE

Studying the Sovereignty of God will encourage you as you have the assurance that God is in control of everything that happens in this and this includes you.


1.  It will help us increase our faith and trust in God.

The memorized Word of God enables us to have the mind of Christ at all times as we walk through life and this builds our faith in His guidance and leadership.

Philippians 2:5 “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”

2. God’s Word is nourishment for our spiritual bodies.

Our physical body will die from lack of food and so will our spiritual body. We must feast on Him and His Word.

Matthew 4:4 “…It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”

3. The Word of God reveals sin and helps us not to sin.

The Word of God is a sharp sword, our offensive weapon. Learning His Word and hiding it in our heart with give us victory our sin and Satan.

Psalm 119:11 “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. “

4. The Word of God will cleanse us and help us live a holy life.

All I need to live a holy life is found in the Word of God.

Leviticus 20:7 “Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God.”

5. Learning God’s Word gives us a true and firm foundation so we can build our life.

How do you build your life? Your way or God’s way? God has a plan and instructions for your life.

Psalm 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

6. God’s Word gives us guidance for daily living.

So many decisions to make in life, the choices begin at an early age; choices that determine your destiny. You will find He will help you every step of the way; read and study His roadmap.

Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shall go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”

7. Praying God’s Word is powerful.

Memorizing key verses on prayer in His Word will help you during your prayer time.

John 16:24 “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”

8. Memorizing God’s Word helps us understand the new scriptures we are learning.

The Holy Spirit will teach you God’s Word and open your understanding. Having some knowledge of His Word will help you to learn more. More is better!

Deut. 11:18 “Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

9. Knowing God’s Word in your heart gives you a spiritual advantage by using the scripture to overcome or just to know right from wrong.

God wants you to be a strong soldier and not be deceived. Allow the Truth to guide you through His Word. You must know the Truth before you can live the Truth.

John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

10. If we know His Word in our heart and soul we can think and feed on it during the day and through the dark times.

God’s Word is strength for the task at hand and a very present help in time of trouble.

Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shall meditate therein day and night, that thou may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shall make thy way prosperous, and then thou shall have good success.”

11. Knowledge of God’s Word will help us to worship in spirit and truth.

Just the pure knowledge of who God is can only enhance and deepen your worship of Him. This will bring joy to Him as well as yourself.

Jeremiah 15:16 “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.”

12. Studying and memorizing God’s Word is never time wasted.

Use your time wisely. God wants to spend time with you each day; the rest is up to us.

Psalm 119:97 “O how love I thy law! It is my meditation all the day.”

13. People, old and young alike need a Christian example to follow, a true disciple of Christ.

Christians and non-Christians are always challenged by someone that knows the Word of God. They realize that person has taken the time to memorize the Word and hide it in their heart and are now living God’s Word.

Philip. 4:9 “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”

14. God’s Word in us helps us to be the witness he has called us to be.

We are equipped to witness at anytime to anyone when we are have memorized key scriptures of God’s Word. With the help of the Holy Spirit we are able to share God’s plan of salvation.

Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

15. Knowing the Word of God allows us to help others in need because we know what God wants to say to them.

The Holy Spirit will remind us of the Word of God we have in our heart so we can help those who are hurting.

Isaiah 50:4 “The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakens morning by morning, he wakens mine ear to hear as the learned.”

16. Having God’s Word in our heart will help us accomplish the ministry He has given us.

A foundation of God’s Word is essential in doing the work God will call you to do. You will want to be fully prepared and equipped.

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

  • Obedience to God’s Word puts your faith in action
