What a great weekend of services we had during Empower ’17! We shared an awesome time of passionately worshiping the Lord and were inspired and challenged by the bold preaching of God’s Word! Hungry hearts with a desire to hear and respond to the Word characterized each night. The messages built on each other to provide an opportunity for everyone to respond to Christ and His call to seek His face, put Him first and serve Him most!
In our Thursday service, Stephen Jones preached a powerful message directing our hearts with the parable of the talents to pursue Christ and his gifts of Eternity, Accountability and Opportunity. The Josh Lafferty Band blessed us by leading us in worship.
In our Friday and Saturday Services, Jerry Maddan preached two timely and anointed messages calling us (Friday) as God’s people to make the church about Christ again and not about its own plans and mandates so we can “make His name great” and (Saturday) to a life characterized like those who walked with Christ on the road to Emmaus when they asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”
Stan Tuttle and the Empower ’17 worship team did an outstanding job leading us each evening into the presence of Christ. Cornerstone is blessed with many talented musicians and singers who use their abilities to glorify Christ. What a blessing to see the large group of exuberant worshipers before the message and after the message gathering around the altar with repentance and humble praise.
Sunday night brought our Empower ’17 services to a climatic celebration with our World Missions Global Outreach Service with our keynote speaker Bishop Michael John. Bishop John brought a powerful Word urging the American church to return to Christ’s origianl purpose for His church in reaching the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ!
