The Cornerstone Conference office will be closed on Thursday due to severe weather conditions.  The World Mission Great Commission meals previously schedule for today (February 13, 2014) have been cancelled.

 

From the National Weather Service:
Significant winter storm still affecting most of central North Carolina.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect in our area until 6 pm EST this evening.

Very Dangerous wintry weather will continue across central North Carolina today. Residents are strongly encouraged to avoid travel this afternoon.

  • Locations: The Triad and Northwest Piedmont.
  • Timing: snow will become heavy at times this afternoon. Before tapering to light flurries around sunset.
  • Accumulations: snow accumulation will range from 2 to 5 inches, with locally higher amounts.
  • Impacts: significant snow accumulation will severely disrupt travel across the area through Friday morning. Power outages will be possible. Precautionary/preparedness actions.

A Winter Storm Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected to occur. Significant amounts of snow and ice will make travel dangerous and could potentially result in property damage and extended power outages. If you plan to use any alternative heating source, be sure to do it safely and follow manufacturers instructions.
